Description

During the pandemic kids were not allowed to come together and learn in a classroom. Film Director, Charlie Watson, had a vision to teach a group of students the skills of photography using the game Grand Theft Auto as the medium.

Project Requirement
  • Identify and curate the students who wanted to learn photography.
  • Create a virtual structure by which the participants could not only learn but be expressive with their art.
  • Nurture a positive experience by ensuring that no guns or explosives were used within the game.

Project Result

Developed a distance-learning system for photography. Students meet as a group inside the video game “Grand Theft Auto” and are led through the digital world for a virtual landscape photography class.

  • Progress and passions ignited among students.
  • Students learned perseverance in a complex setting.
  • Photography skills learned included perspective, composition, foreground & background elements, lighting and time of day.
